Chainlight

Privacy Policy

Effective October 1, 2026
The short version: Chainlight works without an account. Your game lives on your device. If you use the online features (leaderboards, friends, invites and moving your game to a new phone), we keep a small profile with a game name, your scores and a copy of your game progress. We only ask for an email address if you want your restore code emailed, and then we keep just a scrambled fingerprint of it. We never ask for your phone number, contacts or location, and we never sell your data.

Who we are

Chainlight is a puzzle game made by Datamart Inc., a California company ("we", "us"). You can reach us at asif@dtm.io.

Your game

Your levels, ratings, daily results, streaks, hints, settings and bonus rewards are saved on your device, and the game works offline. When the app is online it also sends us a copy, so you can move your game to a new phone (see below).

What our server stores for the online features

When the app connects, it creates an anonymous player profile. It contains:

Other players can see your game name, avatar, level, lanterns, streak, badges and Plus status on the leaderboards. Your invite code is shown to people you share it with.

Moving to a new phone

In your profile, Show my restore code gives you a 12-character code. Entering it in Chainlight on another device moves your game there and signs the old device out. Anyone who has the code can take over your game, so keep it private. The code keeps working until you delete your online data. You can also have the code emailed to you. If you lose it later, enter the same address on your new device and we'll send it there again; we match the address against its fingerprint and never store or show it.

Network data

Like any online service, our hosting provider processes your IP address to deliver the app and its data. We also use it briefly to limit abuse (for example, too many new profiles from one address); those counters expire within an hour.

Advertising

Free players of the Android app may see ads from Google AdMob. Google may collect your device's advertising ID, basic device information and IP address to show and measure ads. In the European Economic Area, the UK and Switzerland we ask for your consent first. You can reset your advertising ID or opt out of personalized ads in your device settings. Plus members see no ads. Google's policy: policies.google.com/technologies/ads.

Purchases

Chainlight Plus is sold through Google Play. Google processes the payment; we never see your card or bank details. We use RevenueCat to confirm your subscription; it receives an anonymous app user ID and the purchase record.

Service providers

They process data only to provide their service to us.

How long we keep it

Your online profile is kept until you delete it. Daily puzzle results are removed after a few days.

Your choices and deleting your data

In the app, open your profile and tap Delete my online data. This removes your profile, name, avatar, invite code, friendships, leaderboard places, saved game, restore code and email fingerprint from our server right away; your game stays on your device. You can also ask us by email. See how to delete your data. Depending on where you live, you may have other rights, such as access or correction; contact us and we will help.

Children

Chainlight is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has used the online features, contact us and we will delete the profile.

Changes

If we change this policy, we will update the date above and, for significant changes, let you know in the app.
